What CadetPass is

CadetPass is a study-prep platform built around the topics tested on the Texas peace officer (TCOLE) licensing exam. It covers six sections — Texas Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, Transportation Code, Use of Force & Arrest, Family Code, and Health & Safety Code — with practice questions, statute references, charge ladders, elements breakdowns, and worked answer explanations.

Our content is built around publicly available Texas statutes and standard study material. We do not provide actual exam questions, certified answer keys, or any official TCOLE content.

How it's built

Practice questions include answer explanations and, where applicable, statute references, offense elements, charge classifications, and penalty enhancements. Additional sections cover DWI, crisis intervention, and Spanish for law enforcement. The materials are study aids and should be checked against current official sources and your academy instruction.

The platform supports two modes:

Score history and missed questions are saved locally so you can come back and review what you got wrong.

Who it's for

CadetPass is for cadets currently in a Texas police or sheriff's academy, peace officers studying for licensing exams, and instructors looking for a structured practice resource for their cohorts. The study library is publicly accessible. Interactive practice has a limited Free Practice Pass and paid access options; see current plans and pricing.

Independent and unaffiliated

CadetPass is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or any law enforcement agency. "TCOLE" is used only to identify the Texas peace officer licensing exam and related study topics.

Official sources and corrections

Use the Texas Legislature's Constitution and Statutes website to check the current text of a cited statute. Use the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement website for official licensing, training, and examination information. These links identify reference sources, not endorsements of CadetPass.

CadetPass summaries and practice explanations are not the law itself. If you find an error, send the page link, the question or passage, and the official source supporting the correction. Use your academy's guidance and official materials when resolving a discrepancy.
