Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using CadetPass (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. CadetPass is operated as an independent study-prep resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or any government agency.
2. What CadetPass is and is not
CadetPass provides practice questions, study content, and review tools modeled after publicly available statutes and study material relevant to the Texas peace officer (TCOLE) licensing exam. We do not provide actual exam questions, certified answer keys, or any official exam content. Practice content is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for legal advice, certified instruction, or your academy's coursework.
You are responsible for verifying the current state of any statute, rule, or case before relying on it in any official capacity. Statutory and case law evolves; while we strive to keep our content current, we make no warranty that any specific question or explanation reflects the law as of any particular date.
3. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If we offer accounts, you agree to provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4. Permitted use
You may use the Service for personal study purposes. You may not:
- Reproduce, redistribute, or resell our practice content, study pages, or question bank, in whole or in part, without our written permission.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract content via automated means beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt and standard search-engine indexing.
- Use the Service in any way that violates law, infringes on the rights of others, or interferes with the operation of the Service for other users.
5. Intellectual property
All practice content, explanations, study pages, branding, and code on CadetPass are the property of CadetPass or its licensors, except for direct quotations of public-domain statutes and case captions. Texas statutes are public domain; our analysis, organization, questions, explanations, and study content are not.
6. Future paid plans
CadetPass is currently in a free public beta. When paid plans (Crash Pass, Cadet Pass, Class Pack) are made available, additional terms specific to billing, refunds, and access will be presented at the time of purchase and incorporated into these Terms by reference. See our Refund Policy for current refund terms.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific result will be achieved through its use.
CadetPass does not guarantee that you will pass any TCOLE exam or any portion of an academy curriculum.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CadetPass shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid CadetPass in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, including for violation of these Terms. You may discontinue use of the Service at any time.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
